The Tradition Golf Club was designed by John Cassell, II and opened for play in 1996. This par 72 course has retained it natural privacy over the years and remains nestled in its natural surroundings. Cassell, has orchestrated a masterpiece of understated elegance with The Tradition. His layout manifests a harmonic blend of natural beauty and golf course craftsmanship. The result is a majestic, tree-lined layout that delights the senses while thoroughly, albeit fairly, challenging all facets of the player’s game.
This scenic 18-hole Championship course was cut out of the woods and is located on beautiful, rolling terrain. Strategic shotmaking is the key to scoring at The Tradition, with its winding, tree-lined Bermuda fairways and greens. Three of the fairways are dogleg configurations and the remaining holes are straight away. A few of the Bent grass greens are undulating, leaving the remainder primarily flat. Eleven water hazards including lakes and streams come into play throughout the course.
The Tradition’s strategic location in Northeast Charlotte, near University Research Park, is ideal for hosting outings and events. The club includes a 5,400 square foot clubhouse, dining facilities, and a golf shop. The practice area includes a driving range, two practice putting greens and two practice sand bunkers.
